The five best cities for outsourcing in the Philippines include: Makati, Cebu, Ortigas, BGC and Angeles, in that order. These cities have emerged as the key IT destinations in the Philippines. Some of the key issues that are adding momentum to the Philippines include: cost competitiveness, Filipino similarities with the US with regard to culture and accent, and the good perception of business process outsourcing (BPO). The government of the Philippines is making immense strides yearly on infrastructure developments which in turn encourages mushrooming of giant industries.

It constitutes of the highest concentration of the Philippines’ multinational and local corporations. This city has employed over 67,000 BPOs and over 10,000 ITOs. Tholons has a strong belief that cities like Manila and Cebu are good choices and both attract customers as they have a reputation of providing better service delivery compared to other locations in the world. Cebu city is projected to rise in the coming years owing to good marketing in the global service outsourcing marketplace.

It is believed that the Philippines current IT/ITeS market is at $14 billion with $2 billion belonging to IT. Dani compared the market with the past years and stated that there has been an immense rise, because in the past years the total market barely amounted to only $7 billion. EXL Company is on the process of opening another of its centers in Cebu city. Similarly, IBM is on the process of expanding its business process outsourcing in the Philippines, IBM has placed focus on improving the values analytics and also improving customer support services. The Wells Fargo and Co is another foreign company which is establishing a business support 3030center in Taguig city for provision of high-value customer services and also back office services. The analyst stated, that the economic turmoil that is experienced in the local American economic markets has weakened their competence globally and as a result, majority of the large-scale buyers and sellers are now opting to go for proven locations which provide good long-term sustainability. Another US-based company, the JP Morgan Chase has in the past few years expanded in Manila city, and the company has established a 1000 employee facility in the same city. The executive director of KMPG firm Pradeep Udhas, attributed Pilipino success to the lessons they learned from India which includes: the best practices and wisely managing and handling the talents and taxation challenges respectively. Udhas stated that the Philippines has specialized in these areas and as a result, outsourcing in the Philippines’ cities is now regarded as amongst the best outsourcing destinations in the world.
