A: Offshoring is where you set up your own office in a lower-cost location and manage all the intricacies of establishing and running a company in a foreign country. Offshoring is typically not cost-effective for small businesses. Outsourcing is where you allocate roles or tasks to a third-party organisation, and they source the skills wherever they are best located. Q: How do I guarantee my data security and confidentiality?

A: At Yempo, we take great care to ensure that data integrity, security, and confidentiality are not overlooked. EMPLOYEE WORKING HOURS

Q: What shift do the employees work?

A: All Yempo staff work the shift that is set by their client. The Philippines is a 24/7 society, so aligning with your time zone is no problem. There is a small salary uplift for staff who work between 10 pm and 6 am locally.

Q: Can my resources work overtime?

A: Yes, staff can work voluntary overtime. They don’t get paid for overtime that isn’t approved by you, and they cannot work unpaid overtime.

Q: Can my resources work more than 5 days per week?

A: Yempo’s standard is 5 working days and 2 rest days. If your business requires a longer week, we can chat about options.

Q: What is the shift length of staff?

A: Filipinos work a 9-hour shift with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break in the middle of the shift and 2 x 15-minute paid breaks in between.

Q: What happens on public holidays?

A: When there is a holiday in your country, you decide if you’d like the staff to work or if they should take planned time off. When there is a holiday in the Philippines, you decide if they work or not. There is a salary uplift if staff work on a Philippine public holiday, and other than Christmas, Easter and All Souls, Filipinos are typically happy to work the holiday in return for the extra cash. 

 

EMPLOYEE EXIT OPTIONS

Q: What happens if an employee doesn’t work out?

A: During the 6-month probation period, it is very easy to exit a non-performing worker – we just need 2 days’ notice. If issues arise after probation, there are a range of easy options we can discuss with you.

Q: If my business changes, how do I release staff?

A: We always try to redeploy top talent to another client in the first instance, but if that’s not possible, staff are made redundant with their full legal entitlements plus an extension to their Health Insurance coverage.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: We pass through to you the direct salary cost of your staff monthly, plus a fixed monthly fee. This covers their office accommodation, infrastructure, technology and HR compliance, and onboarding. Our rates are based on the high quality of our solutions while still being competitive. Offshore Accountancy and IT salaries are often 70% cheaper in the Philippines versus Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and the UK.

Q: What deposit do I need to pay to get started?

A: Nothing. There are no upfront costs with Yempo, and if we source for your role and don’t find a perfect fit, we can close the vacancy, and you have spent nothing but a little time. 
 

Q: How do I pay you?

A: We have bank accounts in Australia, US, UK, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. If we don’t have one in your country, we can establish one easily. 
 

Q: What % of staff salary do you charge?

A: Yempo doesn’t charge a % of salary. It costs us the same amount to provide support to junior staff as senior staff, so this model is not viable. We have a flat monthly fee for each staff member.

Q: Can I bring my Yempo assigned resource to visit my office overseas?

Yes! We love to see our staff broadening their world view. Just get in touch and we step you through the process, then fully support our staff while they apply for visas and prepare for their trip.
 

Q: What is the minimum number of staff I need to work with Yempo?

A: There is no minimum. Most clients start with 1 staff member and after realizing the benefits, quickly add extra staff.
