Getting Started
Many of the IT and Accountancy roles that small and medium-sized businesses need are hard to recruit in-country. In addition, outsourcing a portion of your headcount keeps your business competitive versus larger companies already benefiting from operating in low-cost locations. It also enables you to focus on building your business, which drives more income into your local economy.
We don’t recommend you take this approach. Once you look at the activities that some of your highly paid local staff are performing, you will realize that their time can be put to much better use performing higher value activities, making them happier, more productive, and likely to contribute to increasing your sales. When staff leave by natural attrition, you could consider replacing them in an offshore location instead of in your own office. Data Security & Confidentiality
At Yempo, we take great care to ensure that data integrity, security, and confidentiality are not overlooked. Unlike freelancing websites, we make it a prerequisite for all our team members to undergo a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement. We will work with you on how data is managed and how to best work with your staff to ensure you have no concerns.
Employee Working Hours
All Yempo staff work the shift that is set by their client. The Philippines is a 24/7 society, so aligning with your time zone is no problem. There is a small salary uplift for staff who work between 10 pm and 6 am locally.
Yes, staff can work voluntary overtime. They don’t get paid for overtime that isn’t approved by you, and they cannot work unpaid overtime.
Yempo’s standard is 5 working days and 2 rest days. If your business requires a longer week, we can chat about options.
Filipinos work a 9-hour shift with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break in the middle of the shift and 2 x 15-minute paid breaks in between.
When there is a holiday in your country, you decide if you’d like the staff to work or if they should take planned time off. When there is a holiday in the Philippines, you decide if they work or not. There is a salary uplift if staff work on a Philippine public holiday, and other than Christmas, Easter and All Souls, Filipinos are typically happy to work the holiday in return for the extra cash.
Employee Exit Options
During the 6-month probation period, it is very easy to exit a non-performing worker – we just need 2 days’ notice. If issues arise after probation, there are a range of easy options we can discuss with you.
We always try to redeploy top talent to another client in the first instance, but if that’s not possible, staff are made redundant with their full legal entitlements plus an extension to their Health Insurance coverage.
Finding And Retaining Staff
Yempo is a premium employer in the Philippines, known for paying at least fair market salaries and offering exceptional employee benefits. We aren’t, and have never been a call centre, which means we have a very attractive culture to senior staff.
As well as paying great salaries, excellent health insurance, and other financial benefits, Yempo has a trusting, empowering culture that drives loyalty and productivity. We have a strong Corporate Social Responsibility program – very important to Filipinos, and a full suite of in-person, online and virtual events to keep staff engaged.
Cost
We pass through to you the direct salary cost of your staff monthly, plus a fixed monthly fee. This covers their office accommodation, infrastructure, technology and HR compliance, and onboarding. Our rates are based on the high quality of our solutions while still being competitive. Offshore Accountancy and IT salaries are often 70% cheaper in the Philippines versus Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and the UK.
Nothing. There are no upfront costs with Yempo, and if we source for your role and don’t find a perfect fit, we can close the vacancy, and you have spent nothing but a little time.
We have bank accounts in Australia, US, UK, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. If we don’t have one in your country, we can establish one easily.
Yempo doesn’t charge a % of salary. It costs us the same amount to provide support to junior staff as senior staff, so this model is not viable. We have a flat monthly fee for each staff member.
